World Water Day 2018

Reading Time: < 1 minute

What is World Water Day?

Every year since 1993, people across the globe have been coming together to help to raise awareness of a range of water-related issues that currently affect vast numbers of the population.

There are over 663,000,000 people that don’t have access to a safe, clean, water supply near their home. This results in many of these people having to spend days walking vast distances to collect water. Even then, the water that these people drink is often contaminated resulting in significant health issues.

Reducing Floods, Draughts & Water Pollution

Each year the focus is on a different water issue and this year it is about reducing floods, droughts and water pollution.

More information on the focus for World Water Day 2018 can be found on the World Water Day website.
